We have carefully considered the feedback from the previous application and have worked hard over the last 18 months to address the issues raised. As a result, the plans have been redesigned to respond to concerns, including visual impact and noise.
We’ve repositioned the building to the far end of the site to take advantage of the natural typography and pre-existing bunding and mature tree belt, thereby shielding the building from the small cluster of nearby housing to the east of the site, and from Hooton Road.
The new design also features a green grass roof that rises naturally from the ground and flows over the building, allowing it to complement the landscape.
When it comes to providing services, they will be up to one hour in length, compared to the standard time of 20 – 30 minutes, to ensure every farewell is personal and respectful.
The site will feature:
- Memorial and eco gardens, providing a befitting and reflective space for families to return to
- A wildlife pond
- A new public footpath, which will provide the local community with access to nearby dog-walking fields
- Energy efficient building
- Renewable energy generation
- We will also plant a new tree for every service we hold!
